Our Perception of Reality

“I will rejoice in doing them good, and I will plant them in this land in faithfulness, with all my heart and all my soul.” Jeremiah 32:41 (NIV)

“Once again, the perception of reality is more important than so-called objective reality in shaping behaviour.” David Fetterman

I recently heard both Dr. Kay Fountain and Joyce Meyer speak about the need for us to realise that God looks upon us with favour. This week I read the above comment, so I think God is trying to say something!

God the father is proud of us, when he looks at us he sees a wonderful person. His view of us is not dependent on what we have done or what we intend to do. Its not dependent on other people and what he has heard about us. He loves us as we are, with all the dirt and stains we have picked up along the way – if we could just realise that… it would change our world.

The God of Heaven, the God of Creation and the God of Now looks favourably on us and wants the best for us. He wants to empower us to live lives filled with his blessing. A blessing that overflows into the lives of others. He wants us to be at peace with who he has made us to be, he desires to fill us with his confidence and to teach us to not accept the disapproving looks of those who don’t understand us. He wants us to be who he made us to be and he is prepared to be there beside us helping us do it. All we need to do is accept that he loves us and he will actively reach out to help us.
