On the Passing of David Bowie

I know there are lots of amazing people who pass us by unnoticed and there is an unintended injustice when a famous person’s death overwhelms that of an unknown, but the truth is that the passing of cultural icons mark the rise and fall of us all and David is one of those who represents a generation – he reminds us of the social needs of his peers who individually we could never hope to know, he took their message to the world and allowed us to connect with it. The famous put their life in the spotlight for many reasons, but sometimes a genuine spark of representation of the people is found in cultural icons that no politician can ever hope to match.
